DBT- Informed Therapy

Finding balance between acceptance and change

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) was originally developed to help individuals navigate intense emotions and build more stable, meaningful lives. In my DBT-informed therapy, I draw from the principles and practical skills of DBT to support clients who are working to manage overwhelming feelings, build self-understanding, and strengthen relationships.

While DBT-informed therapy does not follow the full formal protocol of comprehensive DBT, it integrates its core aspects—mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness—within the context of an individualized therapeutic relationship. Together, we explore what’s happening beneath strong emotions and identify concrete tools to create space between feeling and reaction.

This approach is collaborative and compassionate, balancing acceptance of where you are now with gentle encouragement toward growth and change. Sessions may include skill-building, awareness practice, or processing experiences through a DBT lens. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, flexible, and confident in facing life’s challenges.
