• I know starting therapy can feel overwhelming. My job is to make that process a little easier. Here’s what it usually looks like:

    1. Reach out

Take the first step and send me an email or give me a call. I’ll do my best to get back to you within 2 business days.

    2. Phone (or video) consult

We’ll talk for about 15–20 minutes. I’ll lead the conversation—asking about why you (or your child) are seeking therapy, how I might be able to help, and answering any questions you have. We’ll also go over the basics like scheduling, fees, and next steps. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll schedule your first session.

    3. First Session

Our first session is about getting to know each other. I’ll ask questions to better understand what’s bringing you to therapy and what’s been going on in your life. You’ll also have space to ask anything you’d like to know about me, how therapy works, or what to expect. From there, we’ll figure out a plan that feels right for you.

Not every therapist is the right fit—and that’s okay. If it turns out that I’m not the best match for your needs, I’ll do my best to help you find someone who is. Finding the right therapist can be hard, and I’m committed to supporting you in that search—however long it takes.

  • I’m an out-of-network provider, which means I do not accept insurance directly.

If you have out-of-network benefits, your sessions may still be partially reimbursed. You’ll pay the full fee at the time of each session, and I’ll provide a receipt (also called a superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company. Many plans reimburse 50–80% of the cost.

  • My session fees are:

    • 50–55 minute session: $185

    • 25–30 minute session: $110

  • To help ensure that all clients have access to consistent and timely care, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling.

If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or miss your appointment without notice, you’ll be charged the full session fee of $185. I understand that life happens, and I appreciate your understanding and respect for this policy.

  • Yes! I offer virtual sessions through SimplePractice’s secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Before your first appointment, you’ll receive a link to access your session—no need to download anything. Just click, connect, and settle in from wherever feels comfortable.

  • At this time I do not offer in person therapy.

I will begin offering in-person therapy the week of July 14th, 2025. My office address will be 4445 Willard Ave, Ste 600, Chevy Chase, MD 20815.

  • Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.

Therapy:

  • The primary goal of our initial session is simply to get to know each other. All you need to do is show up, and I will guide the conversation to better understand what’s bringing you to therapy.

If you’re bringing your teen to therapy, I typically invite at least one parent or caregiver to join us for the first 10–15 minutes of the initial session. This helps us all get on the same page and makes space for any questions or concerns. Once your teen feels comfortable, I’ll continue the rest of the session one-on-one, focusing on getting to know them and beginning to build trust and rapport.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based therapy originally developed to support individuals who experience intense emotions, often linked with patterns of self-harm, suicidal ideation, or difficulty in relationships. It combines cognitive-behavioral strategies with mindfulness practices to help people build skills in four key areas: emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness.

  • As a DBT-informed therapist, I integrate DBT principles and skills into my approach to help you manage emotions and build coping tools. However, I don't offer the full, structured DBT program that includes individual therapy, group skills training, and phone coaching.

A Comprehensive DBT Program offers this intensive, multi-component treatment (group, individual, and skills coaching), typically for individuals with more severe challenges. If you're seeking comprehensive DBT, I can refer you to a trusted program that offers this level of care.

  • Clients and families are welcome to reach out to me between sessions for scheduling or logistical support.

Clinical and therapeutic support between sessions is limited, and we’ll discuss the best way to handle this during your first few sessions.

If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.

  • Individual sessions usually last between 50-55 minutes, though for younger clients, I offer shorter sessions (25-30 minutes). We’ll talk about what feels right for you during our consult call and at the start of our work together.

The length of therapy depends on your goals and needs. Most clients begin with weekly sessions for the first 6 to 12 months. From there, some choose to continue weekly sessions, move to biweekly or monthly appointments, or decide to wrap up therapy when they feel ready.

  • I specialize in helping individuals overcome depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and difficult life transitions.

I work predominantly with adolescents and young adults who are facing these struggles and help them build the skills needed to create meaningful change.
